An excellent afternoon's work as we defeated a Kingstonian side that came into the game with a 100 per cent record, having beaten Ashford Town, Corinthian-Casuals and Horsham YMCA.

The opening goal came in first half injury time, Des Boateng was fouled on the edge of the area, and Matt York hit the free kick past the defensive wall and into the bottom corner. Just minutes before, Jamie Byatt had hit the bar after our ex goalkeeper keeper Luke Garrard, under intense pressure, failed to hold onto a cross.

Garrard was injured in the process and had to go off just after the first goal went in. He was replaced by Luke Naughton, who had a brief spell at Imperial Fields a couple of years ago. We scored our second after 78 minutes, when Naughton came off his line to attempt to catch a cross. Amazingly he was out jumped by one of the smallest players on the pitch, Jamie Byatt, whose back header bounced gently into a vacant net.

Four minutes later, Ronnie Green powered his way down the right before pulling the ball back for substitute Jon Henry-Hayden to sidefoot home despite the presence of several defenders. The K's scored a consolation goal through Bobby Traynor in stoppage time, but we were well worth the points.
