Terrors arrived
at Earlsmead having taken just five points from their
last ten away league games, so to come away with a
point was far from disastrous against an improving
Harrow side. Starting with the same eleven that began
against Maidstone it soon became clear that getting
past Jinadu, superb at the heart of the home defence,
was not going to be easy. Equally solid though was the
Terrors back line, with McLeod particularly catching
the eye.
Watts created the first Tooting
opportunity after both sides had opened
positively. However, his byline cross dropped
into no mans land and perhaps he could have considered
trying to repeat his late strike of last
Saturday. McDonald and Marshall worked hard
throughout, but were unable to make much space,
creating only a handful of half chances between
them. At the other end Clark provided the main
threat, although his best effort, after eleven
minutes, sailed harmlessly over the bar following his
good run down the left flank.
Half Time: Harrow Borough
0-0 Terrors
A superb fullbacks tackle by McLeod
prevented Harrow from capitalising on a strong restart
and it was almost ten minutes before another Watts
cross, which came in a bit high for Paul Vines to
control, signaled the passing of the storm.
Marshall was combining well with McLeod and provided
the feed for another Vines header that was not far
over the top. Terrors got stronger as the half
progressed, although goal attempts were few, with a
Vines snapshot at Wilmot midway through the period
being about the best until Pitterson replaced Watts on
the left wing for the last twenty minutes.
McDonald had the best chance of the
match with fifteen minutes left, when he latched onto
a low cross in acres of space on the edge of the
penalty area. Unfortunately he could not cash in
on the opportunity and put his shot disappointingly
wide. Clarke and Fenton provided pointed
reminders that there were still two teams in the game,
but the final action involved a brave save by Wilmot
as he claimed an excellent through ball before Paul
Vines could get a touch to it.
