Terrors cruised into the comfort zone of the Ryman Premier with a comprehensive victory over
a Ramsgate side that will now need a miracle to save them from the
drop, much to the dismay of the South London bucket
and spade brigade.
Dominating from the start, Terrors won a series of
corners in the first quarter of an hour, but a repeat
of the early rewards of Tuesday was not immediately
forthcoming and Turner remained reasonable untroubled
in the Ramsgate goal. However, it was a less
welcome echo of midweek that ended the one way traffic
when another horrendous back pass incident fortunately
only resulted in the visitors first corner. Aaron
Goode dealt with the brief ensuing attack and the
pattern of play reverted back to Tooting Attack.
Paul Vines was back on the rampage
when, on twenty minutes, he took the ball down the
left and into the area, only to smash his shot
wide. It mattered little thought as the Rams defence
was about to committed collective suicide, giving Marshall and
McDonald space to make several chances in the area before the latter
finally tapped the ball home.
Ten minutes later Marshall and McLeod traded chances when first
the young winger dribbled into the area and fed the captain for a shot that was scrambled clear,
followed by a low Sully cross that gave Billy a simple tap in for 2-0.
Four minutes on, with the visitors all at sea, Vines joined the party by
cruising through the offside trap and calmly slipping the ball past Turner.
The Rams' frustration almost boiled over five minutes from the
break when Zanzi upended McDonald just outside the
area and was booked. Matt York did not seriously test Turner with the resulting free
kick and the visitors soon regained their composure.
Half Time: Terrors
3-0 Ramsgate
Marshall had clearly drank all his
half time bovril as, within two minutes of the
restart, he produced two more decent shots.
Jason Pinnock, who will surely soon rediscover his
scoring touch, got in some more practice with an
effort that just beat the post. Dean McDonald
continued to prove his worth up front with a close
range shot after ten minutes and then by setting up
Marshall, both attempts went wide though.
Despite a few flurries to keep the
happy band of visiting fans interested and vocal,
Justyn Roberts and Aaron Goode efficiently dealt with
all that came their way. This gave Dave King time to
plan his next business trip (which just happens to
coincide with the Horsham game on bank holiday
Monday!), only having to make a single save from the
one decent Ramsgate shot which arrived after 71
minutes..
The latest meaningless statistic
shows that Terrors have given up scoring second half
goals. Jason Pinnock very nearly consigned it to
the bin with a low shot that was well saved at the
foot of a post. Colin Hartburn got in an
impressive looking half volley shortly before the end,
but there was no great sense of urgency as the Terrors
completed a comfortable victory.
