The legend that is Billy Smith brought Tooting back to the big stage for the first time since 1977 with a remarkable victory at Priory Lane.

Terrors saw little of the ball in the opening exchanges as the conference hosts looked to kill the game off early and after twelve minutes Saturdays hero Taylor was brought down in the area, winning a penalty that Armstrong converted.

Rather than lying down and dying the goal galvanised the Terrors, who slowly clawed themselves back into the game with some crisp tackling and enterprising runs, notably from Nelson and then, just before the half hour, from Aaron Goode who set up Paul Vines for the first equaliser.

Once again the  goal conceded triggered a reaction and eight minutes later another ball dropped low into the area from a long free kick gave Elphick the chance to restore the home lead.

Borough fans taunted Jamie Byatt for completely miscuing a volley from a left side cross (remember Margate last year when he connected). But the laughter quickly stopped as Busy chased down the loose ball and whipped in a cross that was brilliantly latched onto by Alan McLeod who buried it in the top corner.

The Tooting goal lead a charmed life as twice in the first ten minutes shots cannoned off either post and tantalisingly across the mouth of the goal.  A speculative lob from Joe Vines tested Knowles nerve when it dropped directly under the bar, but the keeper stood firm.

Home substitutions did little to alter the course of events as the Tooting rearguard, although busy, stood firm.  Five minutes from time Dave King smartly tipped over from Austin - about the best chance of the half.

90 Mins: Eastbourne Borough  2-2  Terrors

Borough forward Atkin escaped punishment when he 'over enthusiastically' followed into Dave King when chasing a through ball, necessitating several minutes of treatment for the keeper.  However, he was less fortunate a couple of minutes later in his own area, catching Joe Vines to concede a penalty and also a red card.   Matt York slotted home the spot kick, only to find himself in the same position within a few minutes, this time following a handball, spotted by a the linesman.  It took a second bite, but Yorkie followed up his saved first effort to once again give Terrors a two goal cushion.

Extra Time - Half Time: Eastbourne Borough  2-4  Terrors

With nothing now to loose the 10 men pushed forward, hoping that they could repeat Saturdays comeback. King was immediately called in action, saving from Crabb and four minutes later a close range header from a long free kick was headed home by Archer, but there was to be no equaliser, with frustration finally boiling over when Smith punched Pitterson in an off the ball incident and was also red carded.

Cue ecstatic scenes on the pitch and behind the goal - the Terrors march on towards Wembley!!!
