Tooting slumped to a disappointing defeat against run of the mill opponents in front of the lowest crowd of the season.

Terrors dominated the opening stages, with Aaron Goode going close after 8 minutes, side footing wide from a Simon Parker cross.  Three minutes later Alan McLeod forced Tucker to turn his low 25 yard shot around the post and Paul Vines rattled the crossbar with a powerful header from the resulting corner.

Things started to go wrong after twenty three minutes when the returning Mitch Nelson clumsily conceded a penalty that Richards hammered against a post.  A minute later and Nelson was again at fault, missing a tackle and calling Dave King into action.

Dean Hamlin was again one of Tootings most potent forces and he came close to nabbing his second club goal after half an hour, cutting in from the wing and unleashing a shot that Tucker just managed to tip over. Chaos ensued in the visitors area from the corner, only ending when Simon Parker headed against the outside of a post.

Boreham Wood started to string a few passes together, going close from a free kick that only needed a touch and then firing wide at close range from a low cross.

Four minutes from the break and the nightmare started for real when Tom Graves, an early replacement for Andrew Howell, collided with Dave King, gifting the ball to Richards and enabling him to atone for the earlier penalty miss.  Two minutes later Joe Vines came within a whisker of restoring parity from another goalmouth scramble.

Half Time: Terrors  0-1 Boreham Wood

The second half offered little but frustration as Terrors laboured in vain.  Time after time a poor pass would ruin a promising move and Tucker was never seriously threatened.  The visitors needed to do little more than keep their shape and wait for the next mistake.

In stoppage time, almost inevitably,  Boreham Wood broke away to score a second, but there was still time to for things to get even worse as Joe Vines demonstrated his frustration with a late tackle and was rightly dismissed.
