Tooting
returned to winning ways on a bleak afternoon in
darkest Essex. In a match of low
excitement Terrors stuck doggedly to their task
to gain revenge for the surprise home defeat to
the Millers back in September.
Tom Graves has
proved to be very effective in oppositions
penalties areas as well as in his own, and it
was his head that connected to an Alan McLeod
cross at the back post to give Terrors the lead
in the first serious attack of the afternoon.
Simon Parker
side footed wide five minutes later, closely
followed by a Paul Vines header that was cleared
off the line. Thereafter it became a
turgid affair, with neither defence being
seriously troubled
Half Time:
Aveley 0-1 Terrors
Two goals in
a three minute period briefly brought things
to life. Pressure from Aaron Goode and
Paul Vines forced Ketchell to put through
his own goal before Millers pulled one back
with a header by Butterworth.
Terrors
immediate pushed to restore the two goal
cushion, but Goode and Vines were thwarted in
quick succession. Fifteen minutes from
time and Goode again came close, with a neat
chip that was just wide of a post.
