A freezing night and a cabbage patch of a pitch were not enough to keep this event scoreless - it took a good deal of toothless finishing as well!

Hendon responded to an enterprising start from Terrors with close marking, generating a number of niggles on either side.  This all came to a head when Thomas elbowed Paul Vines in the face.  Several minutes later the same player could be found lying prone in the Tooting penalty area as the Greens started to put a few moves together! Neither (alleged) incident was spotted by the officials

The charity evening was kicked off by Woods-Garness when he wrong footed the Terrors defence, leaving himself with only King to beat.  However, the forward froze (along with the rest of us) and gently chipped the ball comfortably into the keepers hand.

Five minutes after Colin Hartburn had just cleared the crossbar with a long shot Simon Parker raced clear from half way, but he could not beat Reading in the one on one. The young keepers luck held as Pitterson could only direct the  follow up into his hands

The last five minutes offered several more chances for Tooting, with Aaron Goode just inches wide with a pile-driver and then three goal line clearances in rapid succession.

Half Time:   Hendon 0-0  Terrors

The generous Woods-Garness continued to demonstrate his largesse, shooting wide ten minutes into the half and then providing another patsy for Dave King three minutes later.

After Reading had dealt with a Paul Vines header the game went aerial, with Dave King almost playing as a sweeper to deal with numerous over long through balls.  Reading also had little more than tidying up duties to keep him warm, although at one point he had to smartly attend to a clever through ball from Jason Henry before Paul Vines could get a toe to it.

Vines missed a golden change to pinch all three points right at the death when he found himself in plenty of space in the edge of the six yard box to receive Sam Claytons cross. But, with the keeper beaten,  his looping header was directed just wide of the post.
