Goals at either end of this robust encounter gave Tooting a league double over Tommy Warrilows less than cherubic Angels.  However, whilst the poor performance of referee Goddard enraged Terrors fans in particular, the pint sized official offered little protection to either side.

Aaron Goode is getting in more shots recently and all that practice paid off when he rapped home a failed throw-in clearance in the first minute

Dave King was the busier of the keepers, starting with a save at the feet of Booth after five minutes.  Even so, it was close to half time before he needed to make another serious intervention after a mistake by Mitch Nelson.  Then , just before the break, Minshull missed the opportunity to equalise when he put a 1 on 1 chance against King wide.

At the other end Worgan had little do apart from watch a couple of decent shots from Goode and McLeod sail past, as the Terrors over dependence on high balls into the area caused few problems for the towering home defence.

Tonbridge held sway for the next twenty five minutes, but struggled to create much in the way of clear chances.  King continued to deal comfortably with anything that came his way, despite defensive clearances being repeatedly given back to Tonbridge and keeping Tooting on the back foot.  Surprisingly, before Angels equalised in the 70th minute, it was Alan McLeod who came closest to scoring with a neat chip from a Hamlin cross that just beat the crossbar.

Ex Terror Scott Kinch did not endear himself to his old fan base with a petulant display of tumbling and a nasty late lunge at Dave King before being substituted (as opposed to being carried off). However, it was the introduction of a Terrors sub, Andrew Howell - back from injury, that seemed to steady Tooting after the Tonbridge goal.  His cross to the back post was headed into the path of Joe Vines by the superb Tom Graves, but the skipper could not control the direction of his shot and he blasted it into row Z from close range.  Brother Paul toiled away, setting up the tireless Simon Parker for a shot with a precise cushioned header and then exercising Worgan with his own attempt five minutes from time.

As injury time kicked in, Howell was brought down by the increasingly nervous home defence and, rather like the first goal, they panicked to clear it.  This time it did not need a Tooting boot to do the damage as the unfortunate Starkey could not get out of the way of a goal line clearance that rebounded off him into the net.
