Tooting slumped to a lacklustre defeat at the hands of a Hendon side that challenged for every ball and worked hard throughout for their win.  Colin Hartburn picked up a second successive red card that pretty well ends his season, although this time he can have few complaints about the manner of his dismissal, as he received a straight red for bundling into O'Leary who was himself in the process of being called to account for his own petulance.

In a drab first half, Terror managed just two goal attempts: a fourth minute shot by Simon Parker that hit a post and a low cushioned header from Paul Vines off a Clayton cross, which was directed just wide of the mark fifteen minutes later.

It was another quarter of an hour before Hendon reached the Tooting goal, although they has been stringing their passes together nicely without creating much danger.  This time, though, it was a long clearance that found Dean Hamlin alone and outnumbered in defence.  As he moved left to cover the threat the ball was whipped into the middle, finding the feet of the unmarked Thomas, who calmly slotted home low to Dave Kings left.

Half Time: Terrors  0-1 Hendon

The solid Tom Graves was immediately sacrificed along with Sam Clayton as Tooting reverted to playing with three at the back. Sub Alan McLeod supplemented his duties in the left flank with a bit of defensive work, notably a superb defensive tackle right on the penalty spot.

The other half time replacement, former Bromley marksman Rob McDonnell, and the later arrival of Albanian Izedin Harusha, both forwards and both making their stripes debuts, made little impression as Hendon comfortably held onto their lead. An off target Matt York free kick was the closest that Tooting came in the second period and a dreadful afternoon got even worse with Hartburns exit.  The introduction of the lively Aite-Ouakrim for the visitors proved to be the final nail in the coffin and deep into injury time he latched onto a throw-in down the right touchline, cut inside and beat Dave King with a lovely chip.
