Tooting outscored Hornchurch at both ends, so effectively beat themselves in a match that followed a similar pattern to Monday nights encounter with Wealdstone.

Joe Vines's head featured prominently in many of the first half attacks, with the skipper nodding one just over the bar in the twelfth minute, having another cleared off the line just before half time and, most importantly, scoring Tootings first goal somewhere in between  from a corner.

Terrors had again started slowly, but there had been little to fear from Hornchurch in the twenty minutes that had elapsed before Matt York sliced a harmless looking right wing cross past Dave King into his own net.

The setback did little to stir the home team until ten minutes before the break when Behcet did well to get down to push a 20 yard Parker free kick around a post, giving Terrors the corner that Vines converted with a powerful downward header

Alan McLeod was again on top form and four minutes into the half a superb delivery from him provided Paul Vines with a chance that had to be scrambled of the line.  Almost immediately Vines was alert to a defensive mistake, slipping between two defenders and forcing Behcet into to action again.

Tooting were now enjoying the lions share of possession and keeping the Urchins defence on their toes.  The pressure finally paid off when Alan McLeod arrived in the box and controlled the ball with time and space to shoot, but instead he elected to square it for Simon Parker to calmly slip it beneath the diving keeper.

Fifteen minutes from the end some slack defending from a long throw allowed Abraham to sneak in and head home the equaliser, which was soon followed by a flying King save that prevented the visitors from retaking the lead.  However, that proved to be only a temporary reprieve as a just couple of minutes later Joe Vines scored his second of the afternoon.  Sadly this one was at the wrong end, deflecting a left wing cross past his own keeper.

Despite a final flurry Terrors failed to create another serious chance, surely ending any faint hopes of making the play-off positions.
