With Dave king out for the rest of the season Danny Bracken got the chance to make an assured league debut.  An early regulation save eased him into a game that Terrors should have won, having created far more chances that their nomadic hosts.

Paul Vines had a couple of early opportunities, breaking through the middle and winning a corner from his deflected shot and shortly after getting in between Smelt and his defender to get in a header that the keeper was grateful to grab.

Vines and Parker caused plenty of problems throughout the half, but it was Jason Henry who came closest to scoring with a low shot that bounced off a post after he had dribbled along the edge of the penalty area to make himself space between defenders.

Bracken was again called into action on the half hour, this time to make a diving save.  The action quickly switched ends with another spot of Vines opportunism that saw him slip himself and the ball past the keeper, but at too tight an angle to slide the ball closer than the side netting.

An early long range free kick found Joe Vines in the area, but his header was narrowly off target.  A few minutes later came the questionable penalty, awarded for a handball spotted by the linesman but by few (if any) others!

Terrors battled on and put together some excellent moves, with Jason Henry again putting in some excellent work throughout the length of the pitch.  Simon Parker set up a great chance for Paul Vines on sixty five minutes by working his way to the goal line and cutting the ball back to his strike partner, but Vines could only drag his shot wide across the goal mouth.

With fifteen minutes left a dreadful back pass by scorer Luckett was intercepted by Vines and only an excellent parried save from Smelt prevented an equaliser.  Matt York was then next to be denied when his delicate header was somehow nodded clear from the very top corner of the net.

With two minutes to go and the pressure building, super sub Tom Graves had his header from a corner headed off the line for another corner from which Terrors had a strong penalty appeal for handball turned down by below par referee Parker.  But this was not to be Tootings day, despite the effort that they put in - which could not be faulted.
