The Terrors

3

Tootings pre-season farewell tour around our friends in the Ryman South continued on Saturday with a comfortable win at Leylands Park. Of the starting eleven only Aaron Goode was not part of last seasons squad. The Terrors quickly settled, the first five minutes seeing Paul Vines forcing an early save before being released by Vernon Francis to calmly slot home the opening goal.

Throughout the half the Hillians enjoyed plenty of possession, carving out a few half chances.  However, the greater danger repeatedly came from Tootings lightning counter attacks, with Jason Pinnock and Ben Abbey looking particularly lively.

Shortly before the half hour Arron Goode lined up a free kick just outside the box which he deftly dispatched into the top corner past a stunned defence. The home side immediately tried to force their way back into the game, Dave King having to make two excellent save within the next five minutes.

HT: 2 - 0  P Vines, Goode

The usual crop of half time substitutions disrupted the settled pattern of the first period. Having already been forced into one sharp save, King could only help a Joe Vines conceded early second half penalty into the net as Harper opened the oppositions scoring account for the season.

John Henry-Hayden showed few signs of jet lag with a turn and shoot effort to completed the scoring.
